The new regulatory framework, the Medical Devices Regulation (MDR), came into force in May 2021, replacing the former Medical Devices Directive (MDD). This transition means that what was once a directive is now a legally binding regulation. MDR sets higher and more explicit requirements for manufacturers to ensure that users have access to safe and effective products. It also clearly defines the responsibilities of importers and distributors. We are proud that Sterisol's medical device manufacturing quality system fully complies with MDR Regulation (EU) 2017/745.
