From plastic mountains to sustainable luxury — hotels save tons of material

Sustainability has become an increasingly important issue in the hospitality segment, where many players are looking for smart solutions to reduce their environmental impact. One of the biggest challenges is plastic consumption from hygiene products, which are often supplied in traditional plastic packaging. By switching to Sterisol System and our Ecoline product line hotels have been able to make significant material savings — without compromising on quality or guest experience.

From 12,150 kg to 2,300 kg of plastic — a drastic reduction

We have analyzed the plastic consumption of an example hotel with 10,000 rooms in a year's time. The results show an impressive saving:

  • Conventional systems had resulted in 12 150 kg of plastic waste.
  • With Sterisol System plastic consumption instead landed on 2,300kg.
  • This implies a plastic savings of 9,800 kg — a reduction of more than 80%.

Less product waste and lower costs

In addition to the savings in plastic, the system has also led to reduction of product waste by 8 m³. This is because our refill bags are collapsible and thus have an emptying rate of 99%. For the hotel, this meant a cost reduction of 5,800 euros per year — a saving that benefits both the economy and the environment.

Sustainability and quality in focus

The Ecoline series is designed with a focus on both aesthetics and sustainability. Our stylish dispensers fit into modern hotel environments and offer a premium experience for guests, while contributing to a more sustainable business.

By choosing Sistema Sterisol Hotels can not only reduce their plastic waste and product waste, but also reduce their costs and strengthen their environmental work.
